Live from LaVal's program from June 6, 1994. Hosted by Earl Oliver and featuring vocal trio, Angels in Heat, piano virtuoso, Dr. Pence (Kenny Cupperman) and singer/songwriter, Pamela Martin. This program was taped at the historic Freight & Salvage Coffeehouse in Berkeley, CA.

Angels in Heat was a spin off group from "Sally & the Guys" who had appeared on one of the earlier programs. Sharon McCleod, a diva with the Lamplighters light opera company was the lead singer. She was joined by songwriter and bassist, Malcolm Brooks, and guitarist/vocalist Earl Oliver. Malcolm Brooks was just beginning a distinguished career as a composer in movies and television. Collaborating with Rushmore DeNooyer, Malcolm has scored numerous films and specializes in broadcast television documentaries for clients including PBS, Turner Broadcasting, Nova, American Experience, England's Channel 4, Germany's Der Spiegel, and others. Their signature work was the score of the 1998 PBS mini-series, "From the Earth to the Moon". Films on which Brooks has worked have been singled out for numerous honors including the Peabody Award, IDA Award, two prime-time Emmy nominations, a Chris award, and a Cine Golden Eagle award.

Dr. Pence was a master of the stride and barrel house piano styles, and a very popular performer throughtout the San Francisco Bay area in the 1990s.

Pamela martin was, at the time of this taping, one of the hottest up-and-coming songwriters in the area. Born in small town, PA and transplanted to San Francisco, Pamela Martin sings her own world into focus with songs of hope, dreams, love and loss. Her voice is addictive and has a rare emotional trueness making you believe in every word. Pamela's been a Lilith Fair Finalist, received over 40 awards on Garageband.com, and topped charts on broadjam.com and cnet's download.com. She more recently won best female vocals and best folk/blues song for "Butterfly" in the 2009 Peoples Music Awards based in London.
